Location.
For detailed information on my Havant location – see https://HavantCounselling.com/Location
My Portsmouth building was on the ground floor (wheelchair access & facilities), off the main road and opposite The Queen’s Hotel. It was equally distant from both Portsmouth Harbour railway station, and Portsmouth & Southsea railway station.
Across from Albemarle House was from Southsea Common which was a peaceful place to be after a session (when the weather is nice!) and near the coast; Southsea Clarence Pier and the hovercraft is a two minute walk from the building (ideal for Isle of Wight clients).
Within the building we had a reception and a comfortable waiting room with toilet facilities including properly equipped wheelchair toilet facilities & a specially designed wheelchair ramp to facilitate access into the reception from street level (all counselling rooms are on a level floor).
The building was accessible by wheelchair & suitable for the mobility impaired.
If you brought someone with you for support, your friend was welcome to visit the many local shops, museums and coffee shops/cafes during your session as, for confidentiality and health & safety, we were unable to cater for someone sitting in the waiting area during someone’s counselling session.
Advice on Travelling to Portsmouth & Southsea.
Buses: See Portsmouth Bus Service routes planner:- http://www.portsmouth.gov.uk/AtoZ/592.html
Railway: Nearest railway stations are: “Portsmouth Harbour” (click for directions) “Portsmouth & Southsea” (click for directions). Both stations are an approximate 20 minutes’ walk.
Hovercraft: Five minutes walk from Southsea Hoverport – suitable for Isle of Wight visitors.
Car Parking: Convenient parking (up to three hours for free along one of the streets parallel to the building (Nightingale Road, etc)) or a parking meter on the road, or one of the car parks near the building. Approximately £1.20 for one hour’s parking fee.
